How To Open Yourself To The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is an important part of the Christian Church and continues to be a major part of the lives of countless Christians around the world. It can not only help bring you closer to God but can open up a greater understanding of your beliefs. Those who are hoping to open themselves up to the Holy Spirit should take the following steps

Focus On Prayer

If you regularly pray to the Holy Spirit, then practice a habit of saying the prayer that you would like to receive. For instance, you can pray the traditional prayer of “Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your people” or “Veni Creator, inspire us through the light of your life.” You can also try a different song or sequence.

You can also sing a song that you would like to pray to the Holy Spirit. For instance, you can ask the Holy Spirit to guide you through a particular situation or to inspire you through the light of your life. You can also talk to Him using your own words.

Understand the gifts of the Holy Spirit

The gifts of the Holy Spirit were given to you when you were baptized. These were fortified the day that you were confirmed. However, they must be used and exercised to keep them from becoming dormant, inactive, or rusty. To keep these treasures, you must remember to use them and study them. The gifts of the Holy Spirit include wisdom, knowledge, understanding, counsel, and fortitude.

Embrace Silence

Even though we have to combine the various aspects of Mary and Martha in order to maintain a harmonious balance, we must still cultivate quiet in our daily lives. The danger is that we might get carried away by the endless activism that we might experience. The Holy Spirit can help us connect with our inner voice and allow us to hear what our servants are saying.

The Five Ps

The five “Ps” are designed to union with the Holy Spirit in order to grow and develop a constant relationship with Him. They include prayer, power, perseverance, and perfection and more prayer!. In order to do this, we must pray to the Lord and practice be crucified with Christ as Paul the Apostle taught. The journey can be long and challenging, but it is necessary to keep going in order to reach the perfection of Jesus Christ. We must take up our Cross and Jesus did.
